توفي يوم الثلاثاء 31مارس 2020 المعتقل "أحمد سيد تونى"، - من ابناء مركز سمالوط بالمنيا- داخل محبسه بسجن المنيا شديد الحراسة، ، نتيجة الإهمال الطبي المتعمد. يذكر أن السجون المصرية هب البيئة الخصبة لتفشى الامراض والأوبئة ، نظراً لتكدس المعتقلين في أماكن احتجاز وزنازين ضيقة ، وحرمانهم من التريض ، وقلة التهوية ، وسؤ التغذية ، والحرمان من العلاج ، وغلق الزيارات و......
